Ohohohohoho. My student loan was paid today.

And I get more again in January, February and May. OHOHOHOHOHO.

I AM IN TEH MONIEZ. I’ve already spent £320 though lolz. :( But it’s alright. It all went on responsible adult stuff, except for the £20 because I decided I needed a treat. But I’m good with money, really.

So uni’s been pretty interesting so far.

Making friends/getting to know people proved to be less of a daunting task than expected. Having always known at least one person throughout all my academic life, it was a a bit of a culture shock ‘learning’ to make friends again, but I’m getting there, and I’m happy.

Inductions have been relatively run of the mill; lots of too-ing and fro-ing from pillar to post (lecture theatre to studio); lots of “YOUR REPUTATION PRECEDES YOU, YOU MUST BE THE BEST!!1111″ to make you feel not at all petrified, and lots of early starts. Oh God, the early starts. I’ve been up every morning this week at 6:30, and after 4 months of waking up no earlier than 10, it’s hitting me hard. I have also discovered that 3 times a week I will need to be getting up at 6:30. DO NOT WANT. DO NOT WANT. DO NOT WANT.

Freshers week has been a little… if I’m honest, dull. I guess maybe living at home (i.e, not in halls) maybe means that I’ve missed out on various parties, getting to know people etc. but so far we’ve only had one event; the barn dance; staying true to our inbred nature, yes, the party was farmer themed. The SU bar was a sea of checked shirts, and I was one of the statistics, as seen to the left.

That’s pretty much been it. :/ There was a “Freshers Gig” but that was cancelled, and tomorrolo there is a Fresher’s pub crawl, so I’ll be attending that. I think that’s it though. :/

Tomorrow I learn how to use macs, joy. Yes, I’m a mac hater. Deal with it. And then that’s it until either Monday or Tuesday. If I don’t have Critical Studies then I have a 4 day weekend, sweet.

Wednesday’s hangover was child’s play in comparison to todays.

Butty decided to purchase some Balkan Vodka, which after smelling it (and almost eroded our sense of smell) we thought the best way to drink it would be mixing it with a pitcher of Cheeky Vimto. NOT A GOOD IDEA. We only added a small amount, yet it killed the taste and had us absolutely fucked for the rest of the night.

Butty and I went our seperate ways, and I met up with some people who are going to be starting my uni on Monday, Natalie and Stuart. Both are awesome and I love them already. We decided to go to our student union bar and.. considering I was already sloshed, drinking an Amaretto and coke (and additionally spilling an entire glass D:), plus rounds of shots wasn’t the smartest of moves. I ended up falling asleep on a sofa, waking up to Natalie licking my face and a guy shaking my hand saying “Hi, Jemi (Natalie told him my name), it’s nice to see you fall asleep in public too, but seriously, wake up or people will start drawing on you.” To which I replied “OH GOD” and just rolled over so people couldn’t draw on me. XDDDD

We left to go to the Waterfront at 00:30, and I spent the rest of the night trying not to puke. Sitting in a bus stop at Prince of Wales road whilst Natalie and Stuart ate pizza, I saw Mr Kettle, my old ICT teacher (the one who helped me make my deadlines when I was failing) with not just one woman in his arms, but TWO. LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL. You playa, K-Dog!

Long story short, I left Natalie and Stuart at the front and I’ve since been battling a THUMPING HEADACHE.

Moral of the story? Do not drink Balkan Vodka, ever.

PS: I start university tomorrow. In the evening I am going to a farmer’s fancy dress party. I am promising myself not to drink, but I probably will. Wish me luck!

I got my haircut on Wednesday. I was hoping to do a before, of my long, reaching my shoulder blades, thick lusious hair, and after, just reaching my collar bone, all short, layered and choppy, slightly reminiscent of 3 years ago. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not a bad haircut, it’s just… odd. I need an adjustment period, I think.

So instead I’ll include a picture of me in bed with a girl, hur hur.

To go alongside further imagery built up in your mind (Warren), I’d also had a lot to drink that day, and woke up with a hangover I hadn’t had so bad since my 18th birthday feat. the Jeremy Kyle drinking game. Waaayyyyyy.

On a final note- Everybody should have their facebook language set to Pirate English by default.

So I called up Student Finance and after much pratting about with a Taffy, I was told that to obtain the maintenence grant, an income-based assessment needs to be done.

Okay, that’s fine, I have no problem with that. Except for the small fact that when I handed my forms in, I asked if I’d need to do an income-based assessment to get the grant and they said no. Which probably means by the time the grant is actually processed, I’ll be getting my money in December, and I have to live on £86. Good game, Student Finance. :)

On the upside, when it comes through I’ll have a lot of money to play with. In theory.

Also, I finally have an idea for my uni project. Now to cram in a summer’s worth of work into a week.

It is a Saturday night and I am at home, bored. Again.

I am also very, very poor until my student loan comes through.
I had the letter come through last week about how much I’ll be getting paid into my account, and apparently, the total sum I will be getting on the 22nd is £886. Which is a nice amount, considering I’m only getting the money intended for those living at home (which I am) but I still couldn’t help but think “Eh? This isn’t much at all…” Especially when I am paying £200 per month board (it’s a little extreme, but seeing as both my parents are unemployed due to ill health it seems a fair amount to pay) and of course, £200 for 4 months = £800. Leaving me with £86 to last me 4 months.

Wtf? That won’t even last me Freshers week!
Then I realised, they hadn’t listed my grant.

…Seriously, what the fuck. I am eligible for a grant of £2,835. That’s an additional £60 a week to live on. Money I would seriously need. Of course, because it’s money I wouldn’t have to pay back, they’re being arses about it! So blatantly I am calling up the student loans centre on Monday and seeing what’s going on. No way am I dipping out on almost 3k of free money.

Additionally, I’ve been recently wearing the combination of minimal eye make up (it doesn’t look it in that photo, but I am) and red lipstick, as opposed to my usual heavy eye make-up and keeping my lips neutral.

Which do you think is better? I’m leaning towards the heavier eye make-up more… It makes me look less tired. :/

(Also yeah I realise I overpluck my eyebrows. I’ll grow them back at some point.)

I have toothache. >(

Purikura in London with Slater

However, I am of boredom, hoping to catch somebody online, so I will write something in here to pass the time!!111

A few weeks ago I went to London to see RACHEL SLATER. She was in the area for a family party and I haven’t seen her in 2 years (almost exactly), so we figure a re-union was in order. Seeing Slater was nice, getting up at 5am wasn’t. After delays on the line, I got to London at around 10:10am, and then scowled as I realised I’d have to walk on surface to Euston to meet Slater as she has limited understanding of how the tube works and is the only place she knows how to get to.  Around 10:30 we are reunited, and I apparently look different. Maturer. I’m not surprised. I feel as if I’ve aged a thousand years in the past few months.

We venture to Islington for batteries for my camera (which cost me £7.99 which I grudgingly pay as I reason that these batteries last me well over a year.) before heading to the most obvious place to visit when in London; Camden. We spent a good couple of hours there before venturing down to China Town for Purikura (as seen above, eliminating me of a nose completely) and then we went for a romantic Chinese meal

Slater and I's half-eaten romantic meal

(something we always do when we get together) opting for Lee Ho Fook, for three reasons. 1. I wanted dim sum. 2. Lee Ho Fook. 3. We got 35% off. And so following the tradition of most Asian blogs (ignoring the fact that mine isn’t) HERE IS A PHOTO OF OUR (half-eaten) food. Slater had chilli chicken noodles (which in my opinion tasted like wee) and custard balls for dessert, and I had prawn & chive + pork dim sum with mango pudding (the funky yellow heart) for dessert. It cost me a fiver! Frigging steal. We then took some photos (as per Slater’s request) which I will eventually get round to uploading on Flickr and DeviantART. By this time, it was time to get our asses to Madame Tussauds. (Only in London can it take you 6 hours just to visit 3 places).

Now, despite living a healthy distance to London (close enough to visit everyday should I want to), I’ve never actually visited Madame Tussauds. In summary, it is awesome. I expected the waxworks to be behind some sort of red velvet rope, and you’d have to ask permission (and pay ££) to get pictures with the waxwork of your choice. But alas no! You’re free to molest them as you please. Fun friends we encountered included George Clooney & Jamie Oliver (who were oddly placed together), Orlando Bloom, John Travolta, Samuel L Jackson, Robin Williams, THE TERMINATOR, Sarah Michelle Gellar (who’s fucking short!!!), Stephen Hawking (hot), Elvis, and of course, Adolph Hitler, my new BFF.  ♥ Additionally, the ‘Scream’ part of MT is very very good. I’m not one to scare easily, but as Slater and I were thrown at the front of the group, we did, indeed, to a lot of screaming. But I’m still HARD AS NAILS. Shortly after I left to go back to the land of the farmers. It was a good day though. I haven’t laughed like that in ages.

Monday I met with Emma as it was the last oppourtunity I’d get to see her before she goes back to Preston for uni tomorrow. I’ve missed her, I forgot how much of a good friend she is. She also brought me my new phone. It’s essentially the same as the one I have, but in white (and very sexy) instead of red & black (also technically silver because of all the scratches) whyyy do I not buy a new phone I hear you say? Because no phone will ever be as good as the Samsung E870. Period.

ANYWAY. TL;DR. I don’t think I’ll be catching that person online and I need to go break in The Sims 2: Apartment Life. I will update moar (with less content) soon!!1111
